6-days Cambodia Phnom Penh to Siem Reap (Angkor Temples)
![]()
Group Phot at Angkor Wat / Wall stone-carvings Angkor WatThe group comprised of 22 pax and there were 3 family groups (parents with children). his is meant to be a "free and easy" adventure trip. Participants should be relatively fit, with a good sense of humour, and above all, have the right attitude for close travel with others through possibly some trying times. Most definitely, this is not a trip for prudes, whiners, fuss-pots, and other similiarly assorted types! We had a couple of those before and it wasn't pleasant for us or them. Although every effort will be made to stick to the given itinerary, ground conditions may change and cause some disruption and/or deviation from the norm. Otherwise, have fun!
Its an express excursion of sorts, but enough for one to get a feel of Cambodia . Phnom Penh ; with its poignant reminders of man's inhumanity to man in the Khmer Rouge sites. The Tonle Sap , South East Asia 's largest lake; with quaint water villages fringing the rustic waterway. And Angkor Wat is a whole archaeological complex which the ancient artefact aficionado would surely need months to wander and wonder, but we will have a full day to absorb some of the more prominent sights—extension or return visit can be arranged!

Day 1 KUL to Phnom Penh: Depart KLIA on AK852 KUL/PNH 1515/1605hr. By the time we cleared the formalities, the markets were already closed and we went straight to our hotel. At night we visited the only modern shopping mall near the hotel. Overnight (ON) Phnom Penh.
Day 2 More Phnom Penh: We started the day at the Chong Euk killing fields, just outside Phnom Penh. From there, we went on to Tuol Sleng Musuem, a former school converted to a prison, where thousands were held before being killed in Chong Euk. We made a brief stop at Psar Tom Puong or Russian Market before finishing the day at the Royal Palace. The rest of the day and night was spent walking along the vibrant river. ON Phnom Penh.
Day 3 Tonle Sap & Siem Reap: We arose early for 0600hrs departure by express boat to Siem Reap. The 5 hours journey across the Tonle Sap Lake traverses diverse river scenery and village life. Arrived Siem Reap around noon and walked about the town until we met again in the early evening. We proceeded to the Phnom Bakheng together with perhaps a thousand other visitors to view the sunset from the top of this hill temple. ON Siem Reap.
Day 4 Angkor Wat: The whole day was spent at the Angkor temples including the must-see Angkor Temple, Bayon Temple and Ta Phrom. We even managed to squeeze in the Banteay Sray or Temple of the Maidens. ON Siem Reap.
Day 5 Bicycle Siem Reap: The plan to do the bicycle trip in the morning was put off to later in the afternoon because of the hot day. Some opted to relax in the hote or went on last minute shopping but most went with me on a bicycle ride to the surrounding villages. We made new local friends who showed us their modest homes and farms. As shops here open till late, we still managed to buy more stuff to "help" the local economy. ON Siem Reap.
Day 6 Go Home: We flew home on Air Asia AK847 1135/1440hr.
