Update 17 April 08 - Some of travelers required to organize this trip during autumn. FYI, Autumn is the Super peak season for Jiuzhaigou and therefore please register asap to secure the flight seat if you keen to join. This shorter trip is for those with limited time needing 5 days annual leave.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is meant to be a "free and easy" adventure trip. Participants should be relatively fit, with a good sense of humor, and above all, have the right attitude for close travel with others through possibly some trying times. Most definitely, this is not a trip for prudes, whiners, fuss-pots, and other similarly assorted types! We had a couple of those before and it wasn't pleasant for us or them. Although every effort will be made to stick to the given itinerary, ground conditions may change and cause some disruption and/or deviation from the norm. Otherwise, have fun.

Juizhaigou, translated Nine Stockade Valley, is one of the top China destinations, especially in the super peak months of October. We also visit the equally popular Huanglong.

Day 1 Sat 18 OCT KLIA to Shenzhen : Depart from KL by ZH796 at 0800AM via Shenzhen to Lanzhou arriving at 1125PM. Free and Easy after check in hotel. Overnight Shenzhen.

Day 2 Lanzhou : Take morning flight to Lanzhou by ZH9977 at 0750 and arrive Lanzhou at 1155AM. After lunch we visit the banks of the Yellow River and its water-wheels and sheep-skins rafts. O/N Lanzhou.

Day 3 Xiahe : We will leave early drive to Xiahe. Half day to visit Labrang Tibetan Monastery that is reputed to be more Tibetan than Tibet itself. Grasslands roughly twenty minutes away by car, or by bicycle 40 minutes away. Lots of paxs enjoy biking out so they can enjoy all the view slowly. We'll have adequate time just walking around and taking in the atmosphere. ON Xiahe.

Day 4 Langmusi : Langmusi is in the border of Gansu/Sichuan province. There are two tibetan monasteries, one is called Sezhi monastery in Sichuan Province and another one is called Geerdeng Monastery in Gansu Province. Local simply call them Sichuan Monastery and Gansu Monastery . Majestic temples with red wall and golden roof built on the slopes overlook hundreds of monks' houses painted in white with plank roof in the lower valley. Tibetan farms are dispersed outside the village. Prayers go around the monastery every day, from prayer wheels to sacred pagodas, kissing significant walls. Life goes on at a slow pace as hundreds of years ago. Both are walking distance from Langmusi, which is a big village. There are lots of mountains with nice views around, paxs can walk easily or opt to go for serious hiking up the mountains. ON Langmusi

Day 5 Zoige (Ruoergai) : After breakfast, we will make our way to Zoige. Pass by Tangke mountain scenery. Tangke hosts the First Bend of the Yellow River and the fabulous Tibetan monastery Suokezang Si, which faces exactly the first bend. An overnight stay will offer you the opportunity to enjoy the sunset/sunrise over the spectacular site. O/N Zoige

Day 6 Jiuzhaigou : After breakfast, we will make our way to Jiuzhaigou approximately. The 7-8hr bus journey to Juizhaigou passes through some pretty mountain scenery. Overnight Juizhaiguo.

Day 7 Jiuzhaigou : We have one full day to explore and appreciate one of China's most beautiful national parks. We visit the numerous lakes. The park is a huge area of gorgeous alpine valley studded with dazzling turquoise lakes and surrounded by snowy peaks. Shuttle bus services take visitors around but many choose to walk/trek along the walkways and paths running alongside the rivers. One-day entrance fee Rmb220 plus Rmb90 compulsory bus shuttles (Note: Entrance fees Rmb220 on 2nd day applicable commence 2008, no more Free entry at 2007).
