Update 22 Mac 2010 - We will run the trip if group member reached 10-12 pax. If group size less than 12 pax, we will using public transport to move around for certain places. We had revised the itinerary for better route. We are getting confirmation and collecting deposit now. Please confirm your seat asap, so that everyone able to crab lower Air Asia fare (Flight fare is Rm628 and taxes 97 as per today rate).

Update 4 November 09 -Daocheng Yading also rated one of the most beautiful places in China, also so called "Shangrila". Air Asia launched to Chengdu and we will crab the lower fare and you can extend your stay at Chengdu after the trip (optional). IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is meant to be a "free and easy" adventure trip. Participants should be relatively fit, with a good sense of humor, and above all, have the right attitude for close travel with others through possibly some trying times. Most definitely, this is not a trip for prudes, whiners, fuss-pots, and other similarly assorted types! We had a couple of those before and it wasn't pleasant for us or them. Although every effort will be made to stick to the given itinerary, ground conditions may change and cause some disruption and/or deviation from the norm. Otherwise, have fun.

      

Day 1 June 16 Tues LCCT to Chengdu: Depart from KL by Air Asia D72626 at 1800PM and reached Chengdu at 2240PM; Check in hotel ON Chengdu.

Day 2 Chengdu/Dangba Drive to Danba after breakfast, pass Luding, Kang Ding etc. Journey will take approximately 9-10 hours. ON Danba.

Day 3 Xindu: After breakfast, depart from Danba, enter Donggu (Eastern Valley) one of the scenic spot, and then drive to Baimei & Tagong grassland, and visit Xindu Bridge.ON Xindu Bridge. (The elevation of day 01 and day 02 are fairly low for making tourists adapt with the forthcoming higher).

      

Day 4 Daocheng: Today we will cross over Mt. Gaoershi (4000m). Drive to Daocheng pass Yajiang after breakfast, cross Mt. Jianziwan（剪子弯）, Mt. Kaizila（卡子拉山口） and Litang, Daocheng grassland, see the famous Mt. Haizi（海子山）. In this route, we see the spectacular Sichuan-Tibet Highway, snow mountain, plateau glacier and grassland. There is approximately 6-7 hours drive for the Yajiang to Daocheng 300km road, besides the 40km gravel road of Litang -- Daocheng, the rest is all tarred. Daocheng -- Riwa (Shangrila) village, although 80km gravel road, however the roadbed is perfect, it drives approximately 1.5 hours. ON Daocheng

Day 5 Yading Nature Reserve: Drive to Yading Nature Reserve through Daocheng -- Riwa (Shangrila) village after breakfast, the drives take approximately 1.5 hours, arrive the portal of Yading Nature Reserve, horse-riding to Chonggu Temple, see the scenery of Chonggu Temple and holy peak Xiannairi, and continued ride to Luorong Pasture, view the another holy peak Yangmaiyong, Xiannairi and Luorong Pasture, ON Yading.

Day 6 Daocheng: After breakfast, visit the Yading Nature Reserve, then horse riding back, drive to Daocheng. ON Daocheng.

Day 7 Kangding: Drive back after breakfast, en route pass Litang, Yajiang, Xindu Bridge arrive Kangding (500km). ON Kangding

Day 8 Chengdu: Visit Mt. Paoma of Kangding after breakfast (ropeway 30 excluded), then self visit in Kangding urban, drive back Chengdu in afternoon. Please note that will arrive Chengdu late night. ON Chengdu.

Day 9 Chengdu : We will visit Giant Panda Breeding Research Center, which has been created and imitates the pandas' natural habitat in order that they can have the best possible environment for rearing and breeding.; Then we will also visit Dufu's Thatched cottage, it is the dwelling place of Du Fu, a realism poet of the Tang Dynasty. It has Du Fu's related materials, rich creation collection & one of the most complete preserved places. Also will visit Wuhou Temple, built in memory of Zhugeliang, Prime minister of the Shushan State during the three kingdoms period in the 3rd century (220-280). We can watch famous Sichuan Opera Show (Face Off) at night time (optional). ON Chengdu.

Day 10 Free & Easy Chengdu 25 June : We have about one full day for final shopping in Chengdu. We will catch up night flight at D72627 at 2355PM

Day 11 Arrive Home : Arrived LCCT at 0435AM 26 June

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Cost cover accommodation, guide and transportation.
  2. Accommodations will be in budgeted hotel/simple guest house.
  3. Not covered are visa fees, air ticket (Air Asia), airport taxes, meals (Rm25 x 10 days = Rm250), in-town taxi/bus and entrance fees.
  4. Note we do not collect up front compulsory tips nor do we bring our groups for "compulsory" shopping stops. Members will decide the tips based on their satisfaction of the guide services.
  5. Cost is subject to change depending on fluctuations in exchange rates and/or airfares.
  6. A deposit of Rm888 will be payable to confirm your place.
