Participants should be relatively fit, with a good sense of humour, and above all, have the right attitude for close travel with others through possibly some trying times. Most definitely, this is not a trip for prudes, whiners, fuss-pots, and other similiarly assorted types! Although every effort will be made to stick to the given itinerary, ground conditions may change and cause some disruption and/or deviation from the norm. Otherwise, have fun!

LUANG PRABANG's UNESCO-listed old town, with its blend of French colonial and traditional Lao architecture, is a haven of cultural richness. JINGHONG’s vibrant markets and tropical ambiance provide a taste of Yunnan's diversity. PU'ER’s tea plantations and rolling hills invite exploration and relaxation. DONGCHUAN features stunning red terraces, vibrant landscapes, and breath-taking views, while KUNMING’s pleasant climate and scenic parks make it a delightful gateway to Yunnan’s natural beauty. Each location promises a unique adventure and a deep connection with the region’s cultural and natural wonders.

DAY 1 KUL-VTE(VIENTIANE) Meet at KLIA T2 05 NOV 2024 510AM for our flight departing KUL-VTE (0710-850). Pick up from airport and we will do Vientiane city tour. Visit That Luang temple, Patuxay Monument, Ho Phrakeo temple ,Wat Xieng Khoun Buddha Park, Mekhong river sunset and night market. Overnight Vientiane

DAY 2 PHOU KHAO KHOUY HIKE-MUANG FUANG (318KM)
We drive to Phou Khao Khouy National Park for easy trek up to the peak to visit a Buddha park and temple in jungle, and for lush views of Vientiane. Lunch on the boat at Nam Ngum Dam before we continue our journey to Muang Fuang for a walk around the market and then sunset dinner on boat. Overnight Muang Fang (B,L,D)

DAY 3 MUANG FUANG-VANGVIENG (96KM) Witness giving of alms to monks on the lakeside, and rest of morning is free time before we take a short drive to Vangvieng. Enroute we visit Jang cave to see the views over Vangvieng Town. Overnight Vangvieng (B)

DAY 4 VANGVIENG CAVE-HIKE-KAYAK A full day of eco-activity today. We will drive to the north of Vangvieng where we will start kayaking down to Nam Song river. Along the way we will stop at the Nang Fa cave where we can do fun tubing. After lunch, we have an easy hour or so village walk where we will be picked up for the drive back to Vang Vieng. DAY 5 VANGVIENG CYCLE-BLUE LAGOON
Today we use mountain bicycles to do a 40km countryside cycling loop, dropping by Blue lagoon for a BBQ lunch stop and swimming, Tarzan jumping etc. Continue cycling with short detour to walk 30mins uphill to Nam Xay Peak. Cycle back to Vangvieng. Overnight Vangvieng (B,L)

DAY 6 VANGVIENG-LUANG PRABANG (189KM) It’s a slow 5-6hrs drive today across the Laotian countryside to Luang Prabang , stopping by several sights enroute. If time permitting, we will visit Phousi mountain for the sunset. Overnight Luang Prabang (B)

DAY 7 KUANG SI WATERFALL Today we drive about 1hour to Kuang Si waterfall, and walk to the water cave, stopping by several coffee view points for sips while sightseeing. We have an optional(at own cost)zip line cross and over water fall until you reach down to bottom. After a picnic lunch at the water fall, free to enjoy swimming etc before returning to Luang Prabang. Overnight Luang Prabang (B,L)

DAY 8 LUANG PRABANG CITY TOUR-PARK OU CAVE Witness early morning 5.30am monks procession and local people contributing food alms to the monks. Later we will visit local morning market. Then we will visit Royal Palace and Wat Xieng Thong temple before taking the slow boat on Mekong river to PaK Ou cave to explore old Buddha artefacts in the cave. Lunch at local restaurant and whisky village at Xang Hai, followed with Pha Ann mountain views and back to Luang Prabang. Overnight Luang Prabang (B)

DAY 9 LUANG PRABANG-JINGHONG VIA TRAIN Experience crossing the border from Laos to China via high speed train, Luang Prabang to Xishuangbanna/Jinghong (0957-1510) Transfer to hotel, free and easy rest of the day, exploring the night market and night life of Jinghong(Xishuanbanna). Overnight Jinghong (B)

DAY 10 JINGHONG-WANGTIANSHU SCENIC PARK-JINGHONG Drive 2 hours to Wangtianshu Scenic Park (164km). The highlight of this visit is the Air Corridor, a spectacular elevated walkway approximately one kilometre long, offering breath taking views from the treetops of the towering "Looking Up to the Sky Tree" (Wang Tian Shu). Enjoying the nature and other activities at this park before we drive back to Jinghong. Free and easy rest of day. Overnight Jinghong (B)

DAY 11 JINGHONG-WILD ELEPHAT VALLEY-PRIMITIVE FOREST PARK Explore the Wild Elephant Valley, home to the majority of Xishuangbanna's wild elephant population. Situated at the intersection of the western and eastern sections of the Menyang Nature Reserve, this valley features an observation tower specifically built for tourists to safely view the elephants in their natural habitat. With approximately 300 elephants residing in the dense forests of Xishuangbanna, this region is aptly nicknamed the “Kingdom of Elephants.” In Xishuangbanna Primitive Forest Park, explore the rainforest, visit the Peacock Garden, and in the Dai Village, enjoy traditional dances, music, local cuisine, and cultural ceremonies. DAY12 JINGHONG-TAIYANGHE NATIONAL PARK-PU'ER (136KM)
Travel from Jinghong to Pu'er today, stopping en route at Taiyanghe National Park. Explore the lush landscapes and spot red pandas in their natural habitat and also other animals like deer and lazy lorises. Continue your scenic drive, arriving in Pu'er by late afternoon. Free and easy evening to explore Pu'er town. Overnight Pu'er (B)

DAY13 PU'ER-TEA EXHIBITION GARDEN-ANCIENT TEA HORSE ROUTE Today we will immerse ourself in history and tea culture of Pu'er. We will visit Tea Exhibition Garden which is located on Yingpan Mountain, 29 kilometers from downtown. It includes the Pu'er Tea Museum, a tea-making workshop, a tea-picking zone, a tea appraisal garden, and other facilities. Later we will explore The Ancient Tea Horse Road walk, a historic trade route that dates back over a thousand years. It was part of a network of trails used to transport tea from the tea-growing regions of Yunnan, including Pu'er, to Tibet and beyond. Horses and mules were the primary means of transporting tea, hence the name "Tea Horse Road." Overnight Pu'Er (B)

DAY14 PU’ER-KUNMING-DONGCHUAN DISTRICT (160KM) Morning train from Pu'er to Kunming (0758-1110). Pickup from train station drive to Dongchuan Red Terrace, which takes about 2 to 3 hours. Enjoy the scenic route through the countryside Head to Luoxiagou Valley to see the famous red earth landscape. Explore the panoramic views and capture the vibrant colors of the terrace. Drive to Damakan, a great spot for sunset photography. Explore the surrounding hills and fields. Overnight Dongchuan (B)

DAY 15 DONGCHUAN DISTRICT-KUNMING (160KM) Morning sightseeings. Visit Qicaipo for a different perspective. Enjoy a packed lunch or eat at a local eatery before 2 to 3 hours drive back to Kunming. Overnight Kunming (B)

DAY 16 KUNMING Free and easy day in Kunming to explore its beauty. Some of the attractions to visit; Green Lake Park for a morning stroll, Yuantong Temple, Kunming Old Street and the Bird and Flower Market. In the afternoon if time permitting, hike Western Hills to Dragon Gate, and visit Dianchi Lake. End the day at the Golden Temple and watch the Dynamic Yunnan Show. After dinner, freshen up and transfer to airport 11PM 20 NOV2024

DAY17 KUNMING- KUL Fly home with Airasia 21 NOV2024 FRI KMG-KUL (0230-0630+1)
