Update 14 Nov 07 - This trip is planned during the Chinese New Year holiday. Let us know early so that we can get the lower fares.. Contact trip leader Rachel 012 3520868.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is meant to be a "free and easy" adventure trip. Participants should be relatively fit, with a good sense of humor, and above all, have the right attitude for close travel with others through possibly some trying times. Most definitely, this is not a trip for prudes, whiners, fuss-pots, and other similarly assorted types! We had a couple of those before and it wasn't pleasant for us or them. Although every effort will be made to stick to the given itinerary, ground conditions may change and cause some disruption and/or deviation from the norm. Otherwise, have fun.

Hongkong view from the Peak

This will be a guided backpack trip, utilising low-cost public transport i.e. taxis, buses, trains, MTR and ferry services. Backpacks are advisable but otherwise small trolley bags. "Huge" bags are prohibited. Participants are expected to be able to manage their own luggage.

Day 1 KLIA to Shenzhen. At this point, we do not know the timing of the Shenzhen flights. Depending on how much time we have, we will visit Window of the World and Splendid China, the largest collection of "Miniature Scenic Spot". At night we explore popular shopping area of Tong Meng, located near our hotel. Overnight Shenzhen.

Day 2 Hongkong. More shopping and eating at Tong Meng Street in Shenzhen. Late morning we take the local train to Hongkong 30min. We visit Wong Tai Xin Temple, Golden Bauhinia Square before spending the evening at the Peak, taking the popular tram. At the top we visit the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. Our final stop on the day or rather night would be Lan Kwai Fong, the most popular drink/pub area in Hongkong. Overnight Hongkong.

Shopping in Hongkong / Macau St Paul's Catheral

Day 3 Hongkong. Group takes the local MTR (Mass Train Railway) to Ngong Ping 360 in Lantau Island to visit the Giant Buddha that has a good vegetarian restaurant for lunch perhaps! In the afternoon, we hang out on busy Mong Kok or Women Street and the Yau Ma Tei or Temple Street Night Market. Overnight Hongkong.

Day 4 Hongkong. A free day with a choice of Ocean Park or Disneyland or both if you like. Both places are easily accesible by MRT. Hongkong is bigger than Kuala Lumpur with acres of shopping malls and great eating. Overnight Hongkong.

Day 5 Macau. We board an early morning ferry to Macau. After settling down in our downtown hotel, we will proceed to visit Macau landmark, the St Paul's Catheral and Menado Square. This old center of Macau is UNESCO listed and has lots of colonial churches and buildings, great for exploring. We visit Limloc Garden, modeled after the famous gardens of Suzhou. We also visit some of the casinos Macau is famous for. Overnight Macau.

Day 6 Fly Home. We fly home on one of three flights from Macau to KL.
