This is meant to be a "free and easy" adventure trip. Participants should be relatively fit, with a good sense of humour, and above all, have the right attitude for close travel with others through possibly some trying times. Most definitely, this is not a trip for prudes, whiners, fuss-pots, and other similiarly assorted types! We had a couple of those before and it wasn't pleasant for us or them. Although every effort will be made to stick to the given itinerary, ground conditions may change and cause some disruption and/or deviation from the norm. Otherwise, have fun.

ZJJ & Guilin made easy. We have soften the itinerary to fit in our senior intrepid traveller on this rustic retreat in rural China ! The tough train trip has been replaced by soft sleepers train but stops at a station further away. What's in store is the classic Chinese water-painting fairy-land of UNESCO listed Zhangjiajie National Park that unfolds and leave you in awe. Longsheng dragon-back rice terraces equally work their magic. We will walk, and walk, but through generally easy terrains of striking temperate forests and age-old rice terraces carved into the hill-slopes. After all that, its relaxing Yangshuo with its laid-back atmosphere surrounded by charming karst scenery—on boats, and bicycles!
We hire private buses for the ZJJ trips up to Jishou, from Liuzhou to Guilin. From Guilin, we use comfortable public express buses to take the group to Lonsheng town. From there we hire small local buses to take up to Ping'an and back from Dazhai to Longsheng town. We return to Guilin & then Yangshuo on public express buses. Accomodation in major towns of ZJJ, Yangshuo and Guilin will be in 2-3 star hotels. In Longsheng it will be in guesthouses as there are no 2-3 star hotels. The guesthouse in Ping'an has private baths but the rest have shared facilities. So be prepared. As usual, you pay for your own meals, entrance fees, bicycle hire and other activities.
